Most clinic owners don't find out their cleaning is falling short until a patient mentions it, or a staff member does. This is the baseline we think every dental or medical office in Ontario should be able to point to and say "yes, that's happening here."
This isn't a legal or regulatory checklist, and we're not a compliance authority, it's a practical list based on what actually matters in a clinic environment: the things patients notice, the things staff care about, and the things that separate a real cleaning standard from someone rushing through with a mop before the doors open.
The baseline every clinic should require
If your current cleaner (or the one you're evaluating) can't confirm these are happening every visit, that's worth a conversation.
Why "we clean it every day" isn't enough on its own
Almost every commercial cleaner will tell you they clean daily. The question that actually matters is whether there's any record of it, and whether the standard holds when nobody's checking. A clinic gets judged the moment a patient sits down in the waiting room, and again the moment they use the washroom. Those are the two spots that fail first when a cleaner is rushing.
What to ask before you sign with anyone
Whether that's us or someone else, these are fair questions to ask any commercial cleaner before you commit:
If the answers are vague, that's usually a sign the standard is vague too.
